Many brides go for the option of style over comfort and are barefoot before the DJ gets the dancefloor going. When my sister was getting married it took several visits to a number of shoe shops before we found the right shoe. Having a wider forefoot, it was key for her to find a shoe that was wide enough to accommodate this to prevent rubbing and blistering. In the months leading up to the wedding, she was careful to break the shoes in usually wearing them whilst doing household chores!
High heels are a girl’s best friend so here are some top tips to avoid pain throughout the day and allow you to throw some serious shapes on the dancefloor!
1. Buy your shoes well in advance and break them in to avoid blisters or rubbing on the special day.
2. Visit your podiatrist in the run up to the wedding to make sure your feet are as healthy and comfortable as can be.
3. Choose a heel type that is suitable for you.
4. Purchase some gel cushions to help make the shoe more padded and comfortable.
5. Have your shoes specially fitted to ensure they are the right shape and size for you.
To sum it up you don’t want to spend your wedding day hobbling around because of your shoes, take the time and follow our simple advice. Trust me it will be well worth it!
Until next time,
